All consumer products sold or distributed in the State of California are subject to The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, otherwise known as Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”). Created through the ballot initiative process, Prop 65 is intended to protect Californians and the state’s drinking water from a list of over 900 naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that are known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
